Priest beheaded in Normandy – Radical Islamist Suspected

News reports are coming through that Catholic Priest has been executed and beheaded in a hostage situation in France.

A PRIEST had his throat slit and several others were taken hostage after armed men stormed a church in northern France during morning mass today, with authorities describing it as an Islamist attack.

The hostage, said to be 84-year-old Father Jacques Hamel, was killed by the attackers, who stormed a church in the town of Saint Etienne du Rouvray at around 10am local time (9am UK time).

The knifemen slit his throat after they entered the church by the back door shouting “Allah Akbar”, according to local media.

Editorial Comment:

There are some conflicting reports as to whether the Father Jacques Hamel was beheaded or had his throat cut.  Regardless, both methods of death are horrific.

All evidence points to Radical Islamists carrying out this attack which targeted the helpless.
